Instructor Bios
Dr. Zulfugar Yusifov MD, FIPP, CIPS, EULAR TT
Dr. Zulfugar Yusifov is a distinguished pain specialist who has established and advanced the field of pain management in Azerbaijan. He founded the Pain Center in Baku in 2011 and established Bakı Ağrı Klinikası (Baku Pain Clinic), the first pain clinic in Baku, in 2023. Dr. Yusifov is an active member of several prestigious organizations, including the World Institute of Pain, the World Academy of Pain Medicine Ultrasound, the American Society of Pain and Regional Anesthesia, the Society of Vascular Ultrasound, and EULAR. He is also an accredited examiner for WIP CIPS certification.
Ass. Prof Dr. Nihat Mustafayev
Ass. Prof Dr. Nihat Mustafayev is a specialist in pain management with training from UCLA Health. He completed his neurology residency at Bezmialem Vakıf University and has extensive expertise in ultrasound-guided nerve block techniques and Botulinum toxin injections. Dr. Mustafayev runs a private clinic in Istanbul and has numerous publications and presentations in the fields of neurology and pain management.
Course Outcome Expectations:
- Learn proper probe and patient positioning for basic muscle injections in both upper and lower extremities.
- Gain practical experience with real-time ultrasonography guidance for neuropathy treatment and musculoskeletal botulinum toxin applications.
